Craft: Friendship Fingerprint Rocks
- Tempura Paint
- Large river stone rocks (go to your local hardware store and pick bags of rocks that are large and smooth enough to allow multiple fingerprints
- Baby wipes (for cleaning fingers)
Each child received a rock and started with their own painted fingerprint. They then were encouraged to go around the room and trade fingerprints with all their friends. The finished product can be set in a garden or at the bedside of the participant.
This served as a great way for children to talk with new friends. Additionally, so much of our storytime crafts involve the individual’s artistic expression; This was a fun way to practice creating a shared art piece.
